Because graduation is approaching, I have decided to switch my phone’s calendar from Outlook/Exchange to Google Calendar. Windows Mobile doesn’t make it easy to remove an Outlook account once it’s been set up, so I’ve written down the procedure below:

  1. Open ActiveSync (Start > Programs > ActiveSync)
  2. Click “Menu” (the right soft key) and go to “Options…”
  3. Select the “Microsoft Exchange” account.  Note that depending on your phone’s configuration, it may appear differently.
  4. Click the “Delete” button.

Voila – no more Outlook/Exchange.  If you’re interested in setting up your Google calendar, check out Google’s Mobile Support page for step-by-step instructions.  Note that there is a software option available (OggSync), but this is by far the superior option.
